Niki Strachan has been the Acting General Manager of AI Governance since May 2024.
Niki joined the Australia Public Service in 2009 and has worked in a variety of roles of different scale. Her cross domain experience in policy, regulation, finance, technology, media and sport delivers distinctive value. Her grit was developed through international experience where she guided herself and others through large-scale adaptive challenges.
Her passion for developing the next generation of leaders is evident in the mentoring work she does with several universities and the Future Women program. Niki is an Adjunct Fellow with the University of New South Wales and Macquarie University.
