Building on the success of previous years, the 2025 NAIDOC Hackathon invites participants to imagine a future where today’s young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders are thriving, shaping policy, leading communities, and driving self-determination.

This year, we’re exploring what must happen between now and 2050 to bring that future to life. Using a backcasting approach, participants will consider a scenario where systems have transformed to fully recognise Indigenous sovereignty, embed cultural knowledge, and support economic independence and leadership grounded in Country.

This is a unique opportunity to co-design a bold vision for the future of the APS, grounded in Indigenous wisdom, community strength, and intergenerational impact.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander public sector staff at APS 4-6 and EL1 (or equivalent) levels are encouraged to register.

If you work for the federal or ACT public service, or in the broader public-for-purpose sector, you’re most likely already a member of IPAA ACT. Check our membership list if you’re not sure.
