When you’re having a hard time at work, what would have helped you?

Our Future Leaders Series morning tea is your safe space to ask experienced leaders how they have managed their hardest days at work – from delivering bad news to their team to not meeting public expectations. Our guests will talk about having open and empathetic conversations about the difficult days at work, and how you can get through them – supporting yourself and your team along the way.

On the day, you can directly speak to our guests or submit your questions via Slido, if you prefer to remain anonymous.

Who is this for?

Public sector mid-level leaders who:

  • Have difficult questions they cannot ask at work
  • Want to prepare for difficult days
  • Want to know how to manage public expectations
  • Want to better manage themselves in difficult situations.

What will you learn?

  • How to manage yourself as a leader when under pressure or when facing difficult situations, such as job loss
  • How to have difficult conversations with your staff or your manager
  • Ways to manage expectations of your team, the public, and yourself.

Speakers to be announced soon.

If you work for the federal or ACT public service, or in the broader public-for-purpose sector, you’re most likely already a member of IPAA ACT. Check our membership list if you’re not sure.
