Kieren Perkins OAM is the chief executive officer of the Australian Sports Commission, Australia’s peak sporting body responsible for leading and supporting the nation’s high-performance and participation sport systems.
Widely recognised as one of Australia’s greatest Olympians, Kieren won two Olympic gold medals and a silver medal in the 1500m freestyle, alongside multiple World Championship and Commonwealth Games titles. Following his distinguished sporting career, he held senior executive roles in the financial services sector before returning to sport as CEO of the ASC in 2021.
As CEO, Kieren is leading the organisation through a period of significant transformation, with a focus on strengthening Australia’s sporting system, improving participation outcomes and preparing Australian sport for a decade of major international events, including the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Kieren is a passionate advocate for authentic leadership and high-performing teams, recognising that trust, collaboration and strong executive partnerships are fundamental to organisational success.
