Ken Walker is the National Manager of the Emergency Response Branch (ERB), leading the agency’s operational readiness and payment delivery during domestic and international emergencies. Ken has overseen multiple disaster activations across high-risk weather seasons, ensuring rapid, accurate, and compassionate support to affected communities.
Ken brings deep operational experience developed through his earlier leadership roles in Service Delivery, including management 36 Service Australia Service Centres, delivering government services across the Greater ACT, and South West NSW, in addition Ken held the responsibility of the Mobile Service Centres, Face to Face emergency Management and the Farm Household Allowance program. These programs provide extensive outreach to rural and regional communities across Australia and offer people access to information about Centrelink and Medicare.
Ken is based in Canberra and has been with the APS since 2012. Ken has a strong background in Service Delivery, Policy and Programme/Project management.
Ken is passionate about supporting his team, connecting to customers and delivering government services to people where they need it.
