Kylie is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. She works with Australia’s leaders in applied science, technology and engineering to advise senior government decision-makers, lead crucial national conversations to solve complex challenges, and support Australia’s technology-powered, human-driven future through direct workforce interventions and by demystifying tech. Kylie is Chair of Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA), driving evidence-based quality care for older Australians, and – as a national award-winning science communicator – is a visiting Fellow at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science. Kylie is a past CEO of Science & Technology Australia, and has created acclaimed programs to champion and supercharge careers for Australian women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, including the Superstars of STEM and Elevate: Boosting Diversity in STEM.
She’s been Chair of the Australian National Commission for UNESCO, is a member of Chief Executive Women, and has been named one of AFR’s 100 Women of Influence. In 2025, Kylie received an Honorary Doctorate from Charles Sturt University in recognition of her leadership in the sector.
