David Mackay is the Deputy Secretary for Regions, Cities, and Territories in the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts, with staff located right around Australia and in the non-self-governing Territories. He has previously held senior executive roles in the Attorney-General’s Department, the Department of Finance, and the Department of Health. Between 2015 and 2017, David worked as a senior leader in the New Zealand Treasury, and, on returning to Australia, as a member of the leadership team in McKinsey & Company’s public sector practice. David is a graduate of the University of Sydney and Monash University, and is an alumnus of ANZSOG’s Executive Fellows Program and Deputies Leadership Program. He also serves as the Department of Infrastructure’s integrity and risk champion.
