Collecting and Protecting Australia’s Memories
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of being able to find, access, analyse, and share trusted and reliable digital information in a timely and responsive manner. The National Archives of Australia has been extremely busy during the pandemic, ensuring that the government’s most important records are documented, so they can be held in the archival collection and retained as part of Australia’s collective memory.
In this podcast we’re joined by David Fricker, the Director-General of the National Archives of Australia, and the current President of the International Council on Archives. Discussed in this episode:
- How the National Archives of Australia are documenting the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Where Australia ranks globally in effective information management systems.
- How the National Archives deal with disinformation and misinformation.
- Why all APS agencies should collaborate with the National Archives.
