IPAA ACT launches strategic plan for 2025-2028
IPAA ACT has officially launched our strategic plan 2025-2028, re-emphasising its mission to promote excellence and professionalism across the Australian public sector.
This refreshed strategy reflects a deepened commitment to collaboration, capability-building, and inclusive leadership – positioning IPAA ACT as a central force in shaping the future of public administration.
“This strategy is about empowering the public sector to meet the moment – with courage, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence,” said Kate Driver, CEO of IPAA ACT.
“We’re proud to launch a plan that not only builds on our strong foundations but also boldly looks ahead – fostering leadership, innovation, and inclusion across every level of public service.”
The 2025-2028 plan builds on the foundation of previous strategies but introduces a sharper focus on:
- Cross-sector collaboration to address complex, shared challenges
- Leadership development through bespoke, accessible programs
- Recognition and celebration of public sector excellence
- Sustainable operations and modern governance practices
- Inclusive engagement that reflects the diversity of the public sector
These priorities are structured around four strategic pillars:
- Connecting a vibrant and responsive public sector. IPAA ACT will cultivate cross-sector networks and create platforms for dialogue, enabling the public sector to tackle challenges and seize opportunities collaboratively.
- Promoting a spirit of service. The plan reinforces the value of public service by fostering a culture of integrity, inclusion, and innovation – while positioning the public sector as a career of choice.
- Strengthening capability and professionalism. Through targeted programs and leadership development, IPAA ACT will support practitioners at all levels to grow their skills and pursue excellence.
- Extending reach, engagement, and relevance. A new focus on digital delivery, fee-for-service offerings, and strategic communications will help IPAA ACT expand its impact and connect with a broader audience.
The strategy also emphasises the importance of partnerships – with members, government agencies, academia, and the private sector. These collaborations will be key to delivering innovative programs, thought leadership, and sector-wide solutions.
Over the next three years, IPAA ACT will implement this strategy through a series of initiatives, events, and programs designed to elevate the profession and support the people who serve the public every day.
The full plan is now available online and will be supported by a series of briefings, newsletters, and engagement opportunities to ensure all stakeholders are informed and involved.
