Risk storytelling for public sector professionals
Build confidence to identify, describe and communicate risk to support better decisions
Risk is no longer the domain of specialists. Across policy, programs, service delivery, regulation, projects and corporate functions, public sector professionals are expected to recognise, describe and communicate risk as part of everyday decision-making. When risks are unclear or poorly framed, advice can lose impact and mitigation can be delayed. This course gives participants practical tools to identify when risk matters, describe causes, events and consequences clearly, and translate risk information into advice that supports better planning, mitigation and action.
Course learning objectives
- Recognise when risk should inform decisions.
- Describe causes, events and consequences clearly.
- Communicate risk insights to support mitigation and action.
