Applications and interviews for emerging leaders
Showcase your strength to step forward with confidence in the public sector
Strong performance does not always translate automatically into a successful application for the next level. Emerging leaders need to clearly connect their achievements, cultural strengths and leadership potential with the expectations of the role. This culturally safe course helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander APS 4–5 employees (and equivalent) strengthen their written applications, interview responses and executive presence. Through realistic practice and feedback, you will learn to use Work Level Standards, the Integrated Leadership System and authentic STAR examples to position yourself confidently for future leadership opportunities.
Key learnings
- Refine CVs, pitch statements, and STAR responses while writing persuasively in your authentic voice.
- Build executive presence, practise interviews, and gather feedback through realistic simulations and group activities.
- Analyse job ads, identify selection criteria, and plan your next career step with confidence and leadership focus.
