Supporting Mental Health in a Crisis

2020 will be forever remembered as the year of the COVID-19 pandemic. But in Australia, the ferocious bushfires that were the burning at the beginning of the new year will never be forgotten. The significant strain this placed on the Australian Community was clear and the National Bushfire Recovery Agency began working with the Mental Health Commission to quickly to deliver necessary support. This support continues today as the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is being realised on top of the pre-existing factors still affecting so many. In this episode we are joined by Andrew Colvin APM OAM, National Coordinator of the National Bushfire Recovery Agency, and Christine Morgan, Chief Executive Officer of the National Mental Health Commission and the National Suicide Prevention Adviser to the Prime Minister.
