DESCRIPTION:Step into the public sector of 2076\nFirst Nations people are shaping decisions\, leading change and thriving across the Australian public sector. \nCulture and community are embedded in the way organisations operate. First Nations voices carry influence at every level. Workplaces are culturally safe\, equitable and empowering. \nBut how did we get here? \nInspired by the 2026 NAIDOC Week theme\, 50 Years of Deadly\, this future-focused hackathon invites you to imagine what the public sector could look like 50 years from now\, then work backwards to identify what needs to happen today to make that future possible. \nThe challenge\nWhat bold decisions were made between 2026 and 2076? \nWhat systems were transformed? How did leadership change? DESCRIPTION:If you manage people in the public sector\, you are likely already leading neurodivergent staff. The question is whether your team environment is helping them do their best work.\nAs more public sector employees identify as neurodivergent\, managers play an important role in shaping whether workplaces are accessible\, supportive and high performing. While many agencies are strengthening workforce strategies\, recruitment pathways and support programs\, the day-to-day experience of neurodivergent staff is often shaped most directly by their manager. How expectations are communicated\, how meetings are run\, how adjustments are discussed and how different thinking styles are valued can all influence whether people feel supported to contribute fully. \nJoin IPAA ACT for a practical discussion exploring what it means to be a neuroaffirming manager in the public sector.
